What If? Season 2 Will Feature Captain Carter Once More

What If Captain Carter Were The First Avenger review

What If? Season 2 will feature Captain Carter again confirms executive producer Brad Winderbaum. Speaking ta a recent virtual press event for Season 1 of What If? Winderbuam confirmed Season along with revealing which alt-character we would be seeing again. Transcript via CBM.

“We realized early on in development as we were starting to get [AC Bradley’s] scripts and starting to look at the arc of the series that there was going to be a character that bubbled up and became more important,” he started. “Not more important than the rest, but [one who] had a strong relationship with The Watcher, who is really our driving force behind the series, and that’s Captain Carter.”

“And we realized as we started developing the second season that Captain Carter was going to be the character who we would revisit in every season and continue that adventure,”

It does kinda sound as if plans are underway for more than just What If? Season 2 and that if that does happen, we will keep following the story of Captain Carter and her version of History. So far we know roughly how things begin for Captain Carter, but not how it ends. Carter will get turned into a Super Soldier instead of Steve Rogers. Rogers will instead wear an early Iron Man type suit designed by Howard Stark. However what is Carter’s fate, does she suffer the same fate as Steve, trapped in the ice for decades only to come back later? Again, your guess is as good as mine.

Also, is it possible, that ‘our’ Captain America when he went back in time actually found the suped up version of Carter somehow? Imagine if those two got married and had kids? However, that does seem unlikely given that in the ‘sacred timeline, Cap is supposed to go back and finish his life with Carter. Whereas, this other version would surely be a timeline that He Who Remains would have purged. I love how geeky the MCU is becoming. Though by embracing the craziness of the comic books, will the MCU lose some of its casual audience? Those whose only interaction with these characters comes from the movies?

I guess we are going to find that answer out soon enough. Are you happy to hear What If? Season 2 will feature Captain Carter again? Sound off below.
