Check out the Marvel’s What If…? teaser below ahead of the animated shows August 11th premiere on Disney+. What If…? will as the teaser says show us alternative versions of events which all begin with a simple, what If? There are certainly a few details we already know about what to expect. so far we know about Captain Carter, Widow in a post apocalyptic Ultron led world, Killmonger friends with Tony Stark, and T’ Challa as Star Lord.

This won’t happen, but I would love if a live-action Loki was the one presenting these alternative realities. Like these were animated forms of alternate timelines that had to be pruned. However in this instance it will be The Watcher who narrates and takes viewers through the episodes it seems. So I do wonder whether there will be any lasting connection to the wider MCU in What If…?, or whether this really will just be all theoretical stories?

Much of What If…? has been kept under wraps for some time. I guess it can be a little easier to do that with animation. However, most recently tons of details have begun to emerge about each episode in the series. We don’t have any idea about how each episode is resolved, or how the series ends, all we know is a little about the different scenarios we find ourselves in whilst watching. The actual ‘what if’ of the situation I guess you’d call it. I won’t give too many details here without any SPOILER tags, other than the brief ones I mentioned above.

I’m not a huge animation fan, I’ve said it before. However, I am looking forward to seeing What If…? I hope it’s good and Marvel’s new animation branch gets to make even more content for Disney+.
