Immigrants and first generations often face an identity crisis. Often, people adopt the local, regional accents of where they grew up and lived and their accents from immigrant family members. Keshav Shree made a comedy short that explores the ever-changing accents in Where Are You Really From?
Here is the description of the short film:
Where Are You Really From? Follows an ambitious first-generation Indian managing director at a major London bank who loses his British accent in a stroke. Comedy ensues as he goes on a journey to relearn his accent that ignites past trauma, and he questions his identity of where is he really from?
