If you’ve seen the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer you may have noticed this already? However, why is Strange fighting Spidey in the trailer? The pair begin on what appears to be good terms and in one of the few scenes I think is from later in the movie, we see Strange and Spidey again. Though this time, it looks like Strange is trying to trap Peter whilst on a moving train. It’s pretty hard to spot using the full trailer, but someone made a great little clip of it on social media below.
As you can see, this was brought up in a thread about a 6th villain. So far we have three villains confirmed, Doc Ock, Electro, Gobby. Richtman, and many others have been saying Sandman and Lizard for some time and like Richtman says there are hints in the trailer.
Dont u know anything about Strange being a villain?
I mean, he looks different and Peter was fighting against him on the magic train scene pic.twitter.com/YVBSybCs6M— Ally (@1allons_y) August 24, 2021
Now, I am not saying Strange is someone else, like, I don’t know, Mephisto!!!! Ha, good times on WandaVision, ahem. No, but it does seem like Strange is trying to trap, or hurt Peter in this shot. Weirdly, Strange is also not wearing the magical cloak here. That’s kinda of unusual in itself, no?

The rumors I have heard are not clear, I have head of both Scorpion (Mando), and Rhino (Giamatti) showing up. However, most insiders seem to agree there will be a Sinister Six by the end. And that’s going to see Spidey needing help. If there are alt-versions of Spider-Man in the movie, which, there are. Why could this not be an alt-Doctor Strange with his own goals?
Maybe this is all way, way wrong and there is an explanation for the scene above. However, it does feel a bit weird doesn’t it? I’ve seen many fans saying Strange seemed, well, strange in the trailer. However, we are left with the same question. Why is Strange fighting Spidey in the No Way Home trailer?
Feel free to speculate below.
