This season of The Mandalorian has been full of surprises with new characters and locations introduced to the show.  While the inclusion of new characters has taken the buzz of the show to new heights some fans have noticed that the main story has moved at a snail pace.  The biggest push in the main story was the reveal of Moff Gideon using the midi-chlorians from Grogu on an experiment.  With only 2 episodes left this season we have to start wondering if everyone is going to survive this season?

With Moff Gideon now in possession of Grogu it would be safe to assume that the someone will not make it out alive from the rescue mission.  Since the reveal from Dr. Pershing’s message we know that Gideon wants Grogu for his midi-chlorians to use on an experiment. From the first season Pershing revealed that he actually save Grogu from dying during the extraction.  This shows that Moff Gideon and the Empire do not care if Grogu lives or dies.  We also know that Moff Gideon will do whatever it takes to achieve his ultimate goal, although we don’t really know what that is.  Some have theorized that Grogu’s midi-chlorians will be used to create Supreme Leader Snoke of the First Order.

The first season of The Mandalorian ended with two minor character deaths, IG-11 and Kuiil’s both sacrificed their lives protecting Grogu.  It is safe to assume that Din Djarin won’t die since the show is called The Mandalorian and he is the main character. Boba Fett and Fennec were just introduced so it wouldn’t make sense for them to die.  The only other character that would have a significant death would be Cara Dune since it seems she will be the only other recurring character on the rescue mission.

Grogu’s death is pure speculation but with the finale coming soon it seems anything is possible.
