Today we can share an interesting Marvel Casting rumor that hit over the weekend. Will Poulter as Adam Warlock? I would never have put these two together myself, but that’s the current Barside Buzz. Now, this is not one of those ones that seems 100% yet, but there seems to be some buzz around it behind the scenes. The Cosmic Circus checked with some sources about a Twitter post which claimed Poulter was cast as Warlock.
UPDATE: Deadline also ran a story saying Poulter was cast, and then James Gunn came out and conformed the news. It’s Official, Will Poulter is Adam Warlock in Guardians 3.

Whilst the outlet could not confirm Poulter’s casting, they were given enough information to suggest it is a possibility. It seems Poulter’s name has been linked with Adam Warlock internally at Marvel Studios. Here’s exactly what was reported by the outlet.
A Twitter post recently stated that Will Poulter was cast as Adam Warlock and our own sources have revealed to us that there just might be something to this casting. Poulter (from The Maze Runner, Chronicles of Narnia, The Revenant) has been fan cast as Adam for years, and we are certainly not normally inclined to take random Twitter accounts like this one (@Collectaholic_) that claim to have casting news that seriously. However, after further inquiry with our own sources, we found more than one source saying that there are indeed rumors going around behind the scenes that support this claim.
Obviously, if we felt certain about this, we would share it as a report or exclusive confirming it. Unfortunately, this is not the case, but we felt there was enough support of it possibly being true to at least bring it to your attention as a rumor for now.

I get the feeling Poulter may be one of the front runners, but that nothing is signed up yet? I guess we may hear more soon on this one? Of course the unsaid suggestion amongst fans as that this casting is for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 which begins filming some time this year.
Poulter did pull out kinda last minute of Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings show due to scheduling conflicts. One wonders if the chance to play Adam Warlock in the MCU was a factor? It’s also possible the two are completely unrelated, but we do know Amazon’s show is set to go for multiple seasons. Any lead actor, like Poulter was rumored to be, will probably have little time or need for other work for a few years. That’s likely the same for whoever plays Adam Warlock, so maybe it came down to a 50/50 choice?
Not sure what I think if this turns out to be legit for now. I was never a huge Adam Warlock fan in the day. I’ll therefore have to go in with fresh eyes if he shows up in the MCU. Warlock was teased at the close of Guardians 2. Therefore fans have guessed he will make his MCU debut in Vol. 3 for many years.
