Moon Knight Cut An Eternals Cameo And Head Writer Explains Why

Eternals is one crowded cast of characters that we haven’t seen since any Avengers movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

With the film’s release less than a month away, Marvel ramped up their marketing by releasing ten new character posters. You’ll need a checklist to keep track of the cast and list of characters.

The cast includes Gemma Chan as humankind-loving Sersi, Richard Madden as the all-powerful Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as cosmic-powered Kingo, Lia McHugh as the eternally young, old-soul Sprite, Brian Tyree Henry as the intelligent inventor Phastos, Lauren Ridloff as the super-fast Makkari, Barry Keoghan as aloof loner Druig, Don Lee as the powerful Gilgamesh, with Kit Harrington as Dane Whitman, with Salma Hayek as the wise and spiritual leader Ajak, and Angelina Jolie as the fierce warrior Thena.

Chloe Zhao directed the movie from the screen story by Ryan Firpo and Kaz Firpo.

The premise of the story is about ancient aliens, who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. Due to the events of Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s most ancient enemy, the Deviants.

With the release of the character posters, the featurette titled “In The Beginning” hypes Eternals is a “redefining film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.” The video explains that the groups of ancient aliens never get involved in man’s activities unless Deviants are involved. It further indicates that the film is more unique than others due to the dysfunctional family of characters, diversity of characters, and the overall love of humankind.

Marvel Studios’ Eternals is in United States theaters on Friday, November 5.
