Will These Rogue One Characters Show Up In The Bad Batch?

As we head into the second half of the first season of The Bad Batch we are left with more questions than answers? Taking place right after Order 66 the common theme from every episode is that everyone in the Galactic Empire is trying to figure out their new role in the universe.  From the internal struggle of Clone Force 99 all the way down to lowly gangsters the galaxy has changed for everyone.  So far in six episodes, we have been introduced to new characters like mysterious clone Omega and

The first tie that we got to the popular duo from Rogue One was during the series finale of The Clone Wars.  While Ahsoka was trying to locate the inhibitor chip in Rex’s head she repeats a phrase that we first heard from Chirrut “I am one with the Force and the Force is with me” This was subtle phrase has garnered theories that Ahsoka and Chirrut had some interactions while she had left the Jedi Order.  Before Order 66 we know that Chirrut and Baze served as the Guardians of the Whills and watched over the Disciples of the Whills at The Temple of the Kyber. We know that after Order 66 Ahsoka takes on the codename Fulcrum and starts recruiting fighters for the Rebellion.

In the latest episode of The Bad Batch, we are reintroduced to Rafa and Trace Martez who are gathering technology for the Rebellion against the Empire.  At the end of the episode, we see Rafa talking to a mysterious character that seems intrigued by the rebellious clones. Some theories are floating around that it could be Saw Gerrra, Mace Windu, Bail Organa, or possibly Ahsoka as Fulcrum.

My guess is the mysterious character is Bail Organa working with Fulcrum and Mon Mothma gathering fighters to join the rebellion.  We already know that R2-D2 will make an appearance on the show and after Order 66 he was in the possession of Bail so it would make sense that he would recruit Clone Force 99 in the battle.  It would not surprise me through the network of Rebellion recruits if the Clones have to team up with Chirrut and Baze on an upcoming mission.

The other big mystery in the show is what the ultimate plan is for the Kaminoans now that they are not needed by the Empire anymore.  We have been left wondering what they meant by finding another pure source for a clone since the DNA from Jango Fett had been deteriorated from so many cloning attempts.  While the most logical answer would be either DNA from Omega, Boba Fett, or one of the Clone 99 troopers an alternate theory is someone who is Force-sensitive.  With little knowledge of the cloning of Emperor Palpatine could the Kaminoans be searching for answers from the Disciple of the Whills which would bring them in contact with Chirrut and Baze protecting the Disciples.

The last link we have in the Star Wars timeline is the ambitious mission Admiral Tarkin has for the Empire after Order 66. We know at the beginning of the season of The Bad Batch that Tarkin wants to move on from Clone Troopers and use dedicated recruits as soldiers instead because it is more cost-effective.  But we know the Empires ultimate mission is the completion of the Death Star which we learned from Rogue One that it needs a lot of Kyber Crystals to power the ultimate weapon.  Those Kyber Crystals are being mined on Jedha with Chirrut and Baze conflicted on their roles after the Empire has occupied the planet.  With Tarkin leaving Vice Admiral Rampart in charge of recruiting new Imperial Troopers his attention should be turned to the construction of the Death Star. This could lead Clone Force 99 to Jedha and get more intel on the Empire’s ultimate plan.  Let’s not forget that Saw Gerrera ends up on Jedha as well fighting the Empire. Could The Bad Batch end up joining Saw and his battle on Jedha?

What do you all think? Would you like to see Baze and Chirrut make an appearance on The Bad Batch? You can stream the first season of The Bad Batch on Disney+ now.
