We are only ten days away from the release of Wonder Woman 1984 from Warner Bros. Pictures. Like many other films in 2020, this film has been pushed back several times. Originally scheduled for June 5th, then August 14th, then October 2nd. Despite most theaters not being open, they are going to go ahead with an unprecedented hybrid release where it will be in theaters where able, and on HBO Max.

Next weekend we will finally get to see the sequel of the highly successful 2017 Wonder Woman film starring Gal Gadot as Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman. Ahead of its release HBO Max and Warner Bros. have delivered us a treat in the form of a clip. But not just any clip, the opening scene to Wonder Woman 1984! Check it out below!

WONDER WOMAN 1984 Opening Scene

The clip features a young Diana as she arrives at a massive Roman-like coliseum where Amazons are competing in warrior games. It’s visually stunning as we see competitors performing all kinds of acrobatic stunts in a variety of obstacles. As a new group of Amazons arrives in the stadium the place erupts in cheers. One competitor is not like the others. While we see a line-up of grown women, at the end is Diana, a child. She is warned by Robin Wright’s Antiope about the course and advises her. As she races off we see flashes of her as Wonder Woman.

Directed by Patty Jenkins Wonder Woman 1984 is getting a lot of good reviews from critics according to Rotten Tomatoes‘ current score. Most of us are not going to be able to see this in theaters. But thanks to Warner Bros. we can enjoy the film from the safety of our homes!
