Wonder Woman 1984: Patty Jenkins Shares First Look At Pedro Pascal’s Character

Wonder Woman 1984 is a handful of weeks into production. As a follow-up to one of the biggest pop culture films of 2017, there’s a lot of pressure going into this movie, but so far, director Patty Jenkins is handling it deftly, dripping little bits of info throughout the process via her Twitter account. This morning, the filmmaker took to the social media platform to give audiences a first look at actor Pedro Pascal:

As you can see in the image, Pascal is sporting an ’80s-appropriate power suit. The dude looks right at home in the decade, as does the TV screen on which we’re watching him. But what is it for? An ad? Some piece of propaganda? Sadly, we don’t know a damn thing about who his character is other than that it’s a “pivotal” role. I don’t know about you, but I doubt that a man sporting hair coiffed that fine is going to be doing a lot of good on this world, and I thoroughly expect him to be one of the antagonist forces of the film — but that’s just me.

Wonder Woman 1984 is set to bring back Gal Gadot as Diana Prince along with Chris Pine, whose character Steve Trevor somehow survived those events in that first film. Joining those two is Kristen Wiig, who is playing the character of Cheetah, Wonder Woman’s premier villain.

We’ve seen very little of the film as of yet. The Comic-Con footage showed Wonder Woman fighting in a mall and running through the streets. They’re certainly taking advantage of the decade, but there’s not enough content out there to make any real judgments yet. We’re sure we’ll be getting something before the year ends — at least we’re hoping.

Wonder Woman 1984 hits theaters on November 1, 2019.
