WonderCon 2019: Tolkien Red Carpet Interviews

One does not simply arrive into WonderCon with any film presentation.

With WonderCon 2019 underway, Fox Searchlight presented a non-comic book/non-sci-fi/non-fantasy movie Tolkien to the attendees of the convention.

This Tolkien film is more of an biopic drama that usually is presented at film festivals. Since it is about J.R.R. Tolkien, the author of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, fans at the convention were delighted to show the real-life story of the man who wrote the epic stories adored by millions of fans around the world.

The panelists in attendance included Nicholas Hoult as Tolkien with his cast members Anthony Boyle, Patrick Gibson and Tom Glynn-Carney. Director Dome Karukoski was also there to discuss the film.

They also showed exclusive clips of certain scenes that established their friendship in the film and forming together the Tea Club and Barrovian Society (TCBS). The TCBS helped Tolkien found his voice and artistic inspiration that led to The Lords of the Rings trilogy.

LRM Online was on the red carpet prior to the presentation and spoke with the cast and director.

Tolkien will be released on May 10 in theaters.
