Wonka: WB Continues To Make Great Decisions, Casts Timothee Chalament In New Willy Wonka Origin Story
I hope the irony is not missed with that title.
WB, the company that can’t get DC right, is taking a second stab at ruining the Willy Wonka character, from the classic novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Somehow Johnny Depp and Tim Burton didn’t permanently kill the franchise. Because now Timotee Chalemet is up next to play ole’ Willy.
Deadline reports the film Wonka is an original pitch, giving a brand new origin story to the title character. Radical.

We will finally get to see the adventures of Willy Wonka before he opened his Chocolate Factory. You know, the only thing he’s famous for. The film is a full on musical, with Chalament getting to show off his singing and dancing skills. Thank God for that.
Paul King is set to helm the film from a screenplay he write with Simon Farnaby. At least four writers worked on previous version of the script, which honestly is the norm for a blockbuster film.
Keep up the great work, Warner Bros. You’re quickly replacing Sony as the “Studio of Shit Ideas.”
