Last week, I reported on a cryptic tweet from Kojima Productions. The tweet seemed to tease something huge for this week. What could it be? A Silent Hill game seemed to be the big rumor being thrown around by fans, thanks to creator Hideo Kojima’s involvement in the series in the past. Add that to a couple other interesting photo details, and you have a perfect conspiracy theory boiling surrounding the Death Stranding developer.
Well, it’s officially this week, and I expected any day to be the big announcement. So, what is the announcement? Well, if you’re already a big fan of Death Stranding, you may want to dial back your expectations a bit. An official trailer was released, and in it, Kojima Productions revealed that Death Stranding would be hitting PC this coming June.
What’s more, it looks like the game will also feature some Half-Life-related content to make it something worth picking up a second time. Sadly, it doesn’t seem like that content will be that extensive. The end of the trailer shows Sam wearing a head crap on his head, so will it only feature cosmetic add-ons? I certainly hope not. Of course, you can expect the PC version of the Death Stranding to feature better performance and higher frame rates, but you’d think they’d offer something more extensive.
More than anything, I’m hoping this doesn’t count as the exciting new announcement we’d be getting this week. Given the potential for Kojima Productions, I was hoping for either a new game or even a film announcement from them. But that was probably just wishful thinking on my end.
