Wreck-It Ralph 2 Trailer: Ralph Goes Online

Disney has finally released the official first trailer for Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2, which is coming a surprising six-plus years after the original (has it been that long already?). Whereas the first film had Ralph and Vanellope restricted to the power strip hub of an arcade, this new film is set to break the world wide open.

When Litwak finally catches up with the times, setting up the internet for the first time, it opens up a gateway for Ralph and Vanellope to go online. What follows is a great number of jokes that range from clickbait to touch-screen kid games that toddlers play with nowadays.

For a first trailer, this one did all it needed to: bring in the new concept and bring the laughs. However, when that second trailer hits, I’ll certainly be hoping for them to actually establish a legitimate goal for Ralph and Vanellope. What ends up being their main goal in this story? As of right now, since we’re so far away, I’m not worried, but I hope to get some of that with the next trailer.

Below is the official synopsis for Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2:

Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2” leaves Litwak’s video arcade behind, venturing into the uncharted, expansive and thrilling world of the internet—which may or may not survive Ralph’s wrecking. Video game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) must risk it all by traveling to the world wide web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, Sugar Rush. In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet—the netizens—to help navigate their way, including a webite entrepreneur named Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Henson), who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of trend-making site “BuzzzTube.”
