The X-Men 97′ trailer is finally here and the animated series begins streaming on March 20th. Check out the trailer below which begins with the old X-Men: TAS series as it ended and then jumps forward into this new next chapter. Some of the new voices are on show, as are some of the old ones.

As you can see, there is similar look and feel. However this also feels new and not like I’m watching it on the lowest resolution known to mankind.

I did love the old TAS series, in fact it was really the show that got me into X-Men. Prior to that in my comic book only days I was always a fan of Wolverine, but never really got into X-Men as a team. For now it remains to be seen whether the stories will be as good, also whether the limitations of that show have been improved?

However I’ll definitely be checking this out March 20th. I’ll let you know what I thought.

Story wise I must confess to not recalling exactly where X-Men: TAS ended. However, I was not expecting the Magneto inheriting Charles’s things twist. I’m sure the team will just happily go on working for Magneto now…

What I will say is that this adapted into live-action is where the MCU should be aiming when this team eventually gets rebooted in the MCU. A live-action and slightly grittier version of some of those early season stories would be awesome. However, I’m getting ahead of myself. For now let’s just hope X-Men 97′ is not half bad.

What do you think of this X-Men 97′ trailer? Is this something you will check out when it begins streaming on March 20th? As always share any thoughts below.
