This felt like it had no chance of not becoming official, and true enough Xbox completed Bethesda purchase. We have known for some time of the deal for Xbox (Microsoft) to purchase the company which houses Bethesda Studio. Check out the post below from Bethesda’s Peter Hines.
We are excited to announce the regulatory reviews are completed, the papers are signed, and as of today Bethesda has officially joined the Xbox Family! So, here’s to the journey….https://t.co/rbNor5ZULa

Bethesda have made games such as Skyrim, the Fallout games, Wolfenstein and more. Gamers across all platforms have been able to enjoy Bethesda games but that ight not always be the case. Xbox has already confirmed that ‘some’ Bethesda games will be PC and Xbox exclusives. Interesting that Xbox haven’t simply said Bethesda will now only make exclusives. This could be that certain games within development contractually have to be released on other platforms, like the PS5? However it could also mean that Xbox are going down a route I suggested they would some time ago.

Perhaps Xbox are willing to allow some big franchise games to be ported to PS5. For one it creates good PR amongst fans of those series. Secondly it means Xbox makes money from PS5 players. Thirdly it makes Xbox Game Pass subscription a far more enticing offer. Therefore gamers who play console and PC can have a Game Pass subscription for all these games. But for those who only choose between PS5 and Xbox Series X, or future generations of consoles, it’s a potential selling point.
Sounds like smart business sense to me. Though, Microsoft know business pretty well, so I won’t claim to know what they are doing. This is just a guess and it could instead simply be a contractual situation. There is going to come a point though where some, and eventually, potentially all Bethesda games are Xbox and PC exclusives.
