We already brought you rumor that the Xbox first-party event for July was coming on the 23rd. Today that Xbox first-party event date has been confirmed. The event, designed to showcase Xbox Series X is definitely happening on July 23rd as previously reported. Check out the official social media post below.

I covered this rumor previously and in terms of what games will be shown we still don’t know. The obvious games we expect to see are the likes of Halo: Infinite, Hellblade II, and Psychonauts 2. However it is expected more games will be shown that what we list here. Rumors of a new Forza title and the first game from new studio The Initiative have appeared. Two classic Xbox franchises have also been rumoured for the event. A new Fable game, along with a reboot of Perfect Dark, which is the rumoured game from The Initiative.

There are also due to be some third-party games shown that has close marketing ties with Xbox. Just the same as third-party games were shown during PS5’s recent event. What those games may be is anyone’s guess at this point. It does however seem unlikely that this event will see Xbox reveal a release date for the Series X. There has been no hints of such information dropping. Previously Xbox boss Phil Spencer has seemed relaxed about release dates and pricing. Spencer seems happy to wait to see what Sony are planning on both these fronts, so they can remain agile with their own plans.
