You Should Have Left Starring Kevin Bacon

If someone mysteriously leaves a note to warn you to leave the house, then obey that instruction.

Kevin Bacon and Amanda Seyfriend star in the psychological horror You Should Have Left that will be available On Demand on June 19.

In this terrifying, mind-twisting tale, a father fights desperately to save his family from a beautiful home that refuses to let them leave. Theo Conroy (Bacon) is a successful middle-aged man whose marriage to his much younger actress wife, Susanna (Seyfried) is shredding at the seams, frayed by her secretiveness, his jealousy, and the shadow of his past.

In an effort to repair their relationship, Theo and Susanna book a vacation at a stunning, remote home in the Welsh countryside for themselves and their six-year-old daughter, Ella (Avery Essex). What at first seems like a perfect retreat distorts into a perfect nightmare when Theo’s grasp on reality begins to unravel, and he suspects that a sinister force within the house knows more than he or Susanna have revealed, even to each other.

David Koepp (Stir of Echoes) wrote the screenplay and directed the film based on the novel by best-selling German literary sensation Daniel Kehlmann (Measuring the World).

You Should Have Left will be the third film solely distributed online by Universal Pictures during the Covid-19 pandemic. The first film Trolls World Tour skipped theaters and debut to worldwide success. Its second film The King of Staten Island from Judd Apatow, will premiere this Friday, June 12.

Blumhouse Productions garnered mixed results from their horror releases this year with a successful theatrical release of The Invisible Man and less than stellar theatrical releases of Fantasy Island and The Hunt.

This next installment from Blumhouse Productions mixes elements with from jump scares from Insidious and psychological thrills from The Invisible Man. It’ll satisfy the horror enthusiasts until Universal Pictures releases Halloween Kills in the fall.
