The social media giant Facebook is partnering up with AMC theaters to provide users the ability to buy tickets to the theater chain’s movie showings directly through the website. Facebook already allows users to purchase tickets through Atom and Fandango, and will now add AMC theaters to that list.
Chief marketing officer for AMC Theatres, Stephen Colanero:
“From the very beginning of online ticketing availability, it’s been our goal to make the process as simple and accessible as possible for all of our guests, and we are thrilled to further this endeavor through our partnership with Facebook, which continues to expand our guests’ choices on where they purchase tickets,”

The service will be available at all AMC locations within a few days, and has already been tested at a number of AMC locations around the country. I mean tickets are available for purchase at many places online, but being able to do it through Facebook will save a person a few clicks.
As Facebook incorporates more and more user abilities, one wonder what users will be able to do within the next 10 years, pay your taxes? Apply for a loan? Or perhaps even watch a movie currently in theaters on Facebook. As Facebook’s path to world domination continues, only time will tell.
