Zachary Levi Says It Could Be Shazam 3 Before There’s A Black Adam Crossover

Earlier today we shared a story about a Black Adam producer giving on update on where things stand with the movie. As far as it seems, the Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson starring Black Adam is still being developed, but when could he and Zachary Levi’s Shazam first clash? It seems like Black Adam will get a solo movie and possibly Shazam! will get a sequel before there is any hint of the two crossing paths, or so we expect.

Turns out everyone’s guess of the situation seems accurate, as according to Zachary Levi himself it would be Shazam 3 before there is any Black Adam crossover with his character Shazam. Levi spoke with ComicBook.com recently and gave his thoughts on Black Adam’s clash with Shazam.

“Because he’s like the ultimate bad guy for Captain Marvel, Shazam. Like [Shazam and] Black Adam, they’re doppelgängers right, the evil twin to who I am. So that’s got to be like the final battle. If we do that in the second movie, then where do we go after that? It would just be a movie of us sitting around playing video games for the third one, that would be very boring. Or not [laughs]. I’m a very interesting video game player. So yeah, I think that’s the idea. We’ll definitely [cross over] — the plan is to get there, but just to pace it out however it needs to pace out.”

You know for once, when it comes to the DCEU, this makes sense. Frankly if the same approach had been taken with Superman and Batman, the universe could be in a much better state right now. I’m the kind of fan that wants a long game plan, I don’t want a hero to face his ultimate villain in the first movie and then the second best and so on and so forth. It’s one of the reasons I am liking the current approach to Spider-Man movies.

I wasn’t a huge fan of Shazam!, but I can see potential there for the future as the character and the tone matures a little to better suit this old man’s tastes. I would definitely be very interested in seeing that showdown in Shazam 3.
