Zack Snyder Has Hopes Of One Day Making A Live-Action ‘The Dark Knight Returns’

While Zack Snyder is hard at work on Zack Snyder’s Justice League it seems Snyder still has making a live-action version of The Dark Knight Returns on his project wishlist. Snyder expressed this interest in Frank Miller’s high-acclaimed Batman story while speaking with TheNerdQueens. You can check out what he had to say below.

“I saw a tweet recently like ‘Snyder needs to stop reading Dark Knight Returns, he needs to read another Batman comic. I almost tweeted back, I’m sure Jay [Oliva] replied like ‘there aren’t any others!’ I’m so obsessed with that comic. I’ve always thought that maybe one day down the road as a one-off, just as a crusty old Batman, we’d just do it. It’s a dream I have.”

It seems almost inevitable that sooner or later this beloved Batman tale will get the live-action treatment. Thinking about it, I’m wondering why it’s yet to be adapted. Taking into account that Snyder was given a second chance at Justice League (something not many thought would ever happen), well, then most anything is possible and the director just might get his shot at adapting Miller’s work.

The Dark Knight Returns follows and older Batman. One who may be a little less caring as to the wellbeing of the scu and villainy of Gotham City. He’s Batman, but sort of with the attitude of Danny Glover in the Lethal Weapon films.
