Kroll went to Twitter to say that the studio are looking at both Ewan McGregor and Sharlto Copley for the role of Sionis/Black Mask in Birds of Prey. Check it below.
Still have Renee Montoya and Cassandra Cain's roles to cast as well as the crime lord up against the team. Hearing names like Sharlto and Ewan McGreggor are actors they like for the role but have only started meeting actors for that part https://t.co/OaVfpTfkyM

Now, let’s be clear that until we hear anything official this is all just rumor for now, Kroll even states in his first post that WB has only just started meeting actors for the role. So things could change considerably as they work through this casting period for the role of Black Mask.
Black Mask is a villain I’ve always wanted to see done on film, but in a Batman movie, not a Birds of Prey movie. I have to be honest and say that a movie about Huntress, Black Canary and Harley Quinn fills me with about as much excitement as a 3 hour extended edition of The Last Jedi, with 40 minutes more Canto Bight. For me at least they are C list characters from the DC Universe, and yet Henry Cavill can’t seem to get anyone at WB to commit to making another Superman movie? The logic in the decisions being made by WB in regards to their DC IP is frankly bamboozling this writer. However, It’s not just about me and my thoughts, is it?
What do you think of McGregor or Copley as Black Mask? Are you sad that Rockwell passed up or happy that it still means one day he could show back up as Justin Hammer in the MCU? Sound off with fellow fans in the usual place below.
