With yesterday’s confirmation that the always welcome Pedro Pascal will be taking on the lead role in upcoming Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, today we get another addition to the show. Former MMA fighter, Gina Carano has joined the cast.No stranger to acting, Carano has had roles in a number of films including Deadpool and Fast & Furious 6.

I’ve never been much of an MMA fan, but from the roles I’ve seen Carano in, she is a welcome addition to the cast as far as I am concerned. I thought she did quite well with her role as Angel in Deadpool, and am interested to see what else she may have in store for us.

I find this to be the most interesting project on the Disney horizon (Yes, that includes the still untitled Episode IX). I would like to know more about the Mandalorian people, while we have been shown a decent amount of Jango and Boba Fett, there are far more stories to explore. The fact that this series comes from Hollywood veteran Jon Favreau, really elevates my expectations, I really haven’t been this excited for Star Wars content since after the first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
