Theme park rides based on films have been around for a while now. When I was younger I remember both the Batman and Superman rides at Six Flags Magic Mountain being huge attractions for the park. I rode them both, several times, but while they were fine as roller coasters, another company with a theme park or two, Disney, has always pushed things a bit further with their attractions.
If you didn’t already know, Disney is planning to unveil a Guardians of the Galaxy ride at Disney World in Orlando Florida in 2021. The ride looks to be very innovative and hopes to be much more immersive than your average roller coaster. You can check out a clip of Bob Chapek, the Disney Parks Chairman, speaking about the upcoming attraction.
Whoa! Disney just gave a snippet of what the all-new Guardians of the Galaxy rollercoaster will look like. He described it as a story telling coaster, drawing a rider’s attention to the story portrayed. #epcot pic.twitter.com/N8eMluad5P

Since the audio of that clip is somewhat hard to hear I will go ahead and pull out a piece of what Chapek had to say.
“Each individual cab will be programmed to direct your eye to the story happening around you,” Chapek said. “That means instead of whizzing by the action, you’ll be fully immersed in the story from the minute you launch.
I have to say, they sold me. The spinning coaster carts will definitely further immerse the guest in the experience, and this appears to be a somewhat large step forward for roller coasters. It’s been far too long since I have been to a theme park, and with Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge coming next year, this gives me yet another reason to get down to Florida.
