Play The Old Guard Mini-Video Game to Win an Immortal Netflix Account

The Old Guard
The Old Guard

The Old Guard is about immortal warriors who seem never to die.

So Netflix devises a way to promote the action film with a minigame.

The minigame comprises five levels, in which the player controls a double ax-wielding Andy in a combat room full of swordsmen, snipers, gunsmiths, and even a grenade bombardier. Each level is timed, and the gameplay is simple. Don’t worry about dying in the game. You are immortal. So you do have unlimited lives.

It sounds simple, but this is a nationwide contest. You may nearly have to be perfect not to get killed, hurt, and complete the levels with the fastest times. By obtaining the highest score in the United States, Netflix will award the ultimate prize—an Immortal Netflix Account. Well, almost immortal. The company will award the winner 1,000 months of subscription or 83 years—basically, Netflix for your lifespan.

It’s a quick game, and it doesn’t hurt to play to pass the time. The contest ends on Sunday, July 19. Better get to it. Go to www.oldguardgame.com.

Here’s the synopsis of the film:

Led by a warrior named Andy (Charlize Theron), a covert group of tight-knit mercenaries with a mysterious inability to die has fought to protect the mortal world for centuries. But when the team is recruited to take on an emergency mission, and their extraordinary abilities are suddenly exposed, it’s up to Andy and Nile (Kiki Layne), the newest soldier to join their ranks, to help the group eliminate the threat of those who seek to replicate and monetize their power by any means necessary.

Gena Prince-Bythewood (Love & Basketball, Beyond the Lights) directed the film, which was based on the graphic novel by Greg Rucka.
