According to Deadline, Devery Jacobs cast in Echo series. The upcoming Echo Disney+ show will star Alaqua Cox as the titular character. Whilst there has been official word, there are many rumors that Vincent D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox are in the show, possibly along with Kirsten Ritter’s return as Jessica Jones.

As for Jacobs, it seems she is playing one of the shows leads.

Details of Jacobs’ character are sketchy, but she is believed to be playing one of the leads, referred to as Julie, who is resilient and strong willed.

I never felt Echo was that well developed within Hawkeye. Perhaps that’s why we need her own show to give us more time with the character as the focus? I think the Marvel fans are far more excited about Cox, and D’ Onofrio returning as Kinpin and Daredevil once again. When Hawkeye ended we were left not knowing whether Maya had really shot and killed Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin. However given the comic book runs this was pulled from, it seems likely that Fisk will have survived.

Maya also seems to have been left friendless and outcast from the tracksuit mafia, so perhaps ‘Julie’ is a new friend who aids Maya in whatever happen next?

I think it’s fine that fans are more excited for Daredevil and Kingpin than they are Echo herself. The show is an opportunity to use them as a draw, but leave people liking the Echo character by the end. I’m just not sure where Echo and some of the other low power characters end up at this time. Are they building to something, like The Defenders previously? Or will the characters just show up in each others shows from time to time like the comics?

There are solid rumors that a Daredevil Disney+ show is also on the way. However, for now, the next step in that story is definitely Echo.
