According to Productionlist.com The Penguin series to begin filming June 15th this year. The Penguin is a spin-off show starring Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot, aka Oz from The Batman. The show is supposedly about Oz’s rise to power and becoming a crime boss. The Penguin will film in Los Angeles. As yet we have no end date for that shoot so no idea how long it is set to last for?

Ultimately you now have all the information anyone else (outside of employees) does on The Penguin. Outside of Farrell there is no word on casting. There are certainly no rumors yet that Pattinson or Wright could show up as Batman/Gordon respectively. However I think fans are certainly hoping that Pattinson makes an appearance even if it’s just for one episode. We assume that The Penguin is set after the events of The Batman, but we don’t know if that truly is the case for now. If it is, it might give fans a steer as to where The Batman 2, announced this week, could go plot wise?

Could some other members of Batman’s Rogue’s Gallery show up? Again, no rumors for now. However we may start to get a few more details in the run up to the shoot starting, especially when it comes to casting.

As a fan who really enjoyed The Batman I am excited for The Penguin as well. I’m just not sure where I’ll get to watch it and whether I’ll have to wait again? Peacemaker‘s finale had already come and gone in the U.S. before it arrived in the shores of the U.K.. I loved Peacemaker but it was annoying that I could not discuss it weekly with my Atlantically challenged colleagues in LRM/GenreVerse. Yes I made that word up, sue me.

I hope whenever The Penguin drops on HBO Max that we have a better system in place for territories that don’t currently have the streaming service.
