007 producers shoot down Tom Hardy rumors. Read on for more details.
Well, folks, Tom Hardy isn’t going to be the next 007. At least not at the moment. Rumors of Hardy taking on the role of the iconic spy have been swirling around the movie news world, but producers confirmed that Daniel Craig’s replacement has not been chosen.
Producer Barbara Broccoli recently spoke with Total Film and clarified the situation surrounding the next James Bond. You can check it out below.
“I always say: you can only be in love with one person at a time. Once the film’s come out, then some time will pass, and then we’ll have to get on to the business of the future. But for now, we just cannot think about anything beyond Daniel.”
Broccoli continued talking more about the future of the character.
“It will have to be re-imagined, in the way each actor has re-imagined the role,” Broccoli assures. “That’s what is so exciting and fun about this franchise; the character evolves. Eventually, when we have to think about it, we’ll find the right person.”
When Daniel Craig was first chosen as 007, many fans questioned the casting. Though any doubters were quickly silenced after the release of Craig’s first film as James Bond as the actor has been a fantastic Bond during his time as the charming and deadly MI6 operative.
As for Hardy, I think he would nail the role, as he has proven to be very versatile. I would have no problem with Hardy stepping into the role.
Who would cast as the next James Bond? What did you think of the Tom Hardy rumors? Let us know in the comments down below!
