Sony Pictures Classics released the theatrical trailer for the upcoming comedy “Damsels in Distress.â€
The film stars Greta Gerwig (“No Strings Attached,†“Greenbergâ€), Adam Brody (“Mr. & Mrs. Smith,†“The O.C.â€), Analeigh Tipton (“Crazy, Stupid, Love,†“The Green Hornetâ€), Megalyn Echikunwoke (“Spyder Games,†“The 4400â€), and Carrie MacLemore.
Here is the synopsis:
A trio of beautiful girls set out to revolutionize life at a grungy American university – the dynamic leader Violet Wister, principled Rose and sexy Heather. They welcome transfer student Lily into their group, which seeks to help severely depressed students with a program of good hygiene and musical dance numbers. The girls become romantically entangled with a series of men – including smooth Charlie, dreamboat Xavier, the mad frat pack of Frank and Thor – who threaten the girls’ friendship and sanity.
The film is directed and written by Whit Stillman (“Metropolitan,†“The Last Days of Discoâ€).
“Damsels in Distress†will be released in theaters on April 6.
