In a show of solidarity from movie studios and independent distributors, the weekend box office numbers will not be released on Sunday, July 22.
Warner Brothers Pictures announced on Friday that it will not be releasing the box office figures for “The Dark Knight Rises.†Over the weekend, the following studios followed Warner Brothers’ lead including Sony Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox, Walt Disney Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures and Lionsgate-Summit Entertainment.
The box office numbers will not be released until Monday to show respect for the victims and their families.
