Deadline has reported that actors Paula Patton and Colin Farrell are in negotiations with Legendary Pictures and Atlas Entertainment for roles in video game adaptation.

Patton is in talks for the lead role, but Farrell is “50/50” chance to be signed. The site also mentioned that other actors are testing for roles, but would not disclose at this time.

The “Warcraft” movie was announced back in 2006 with Sam Raimi attached to the project. However, Raimi left the project last year and was replaced by “Source Code” director Duncan Jones.

“World of Warcraft” is an online massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) from Blizzard Entertainment.  It is a fantasy based video game set in the world of Azeroth, a kingdom full of elves, dwarves, gnomes, orcs and trolls.

Charles Leavitt wrote the script with production to begin in January.
