It is with heavy hearts that we confirm reports that actor Paul Walker has passed away at the age of 40. We held off on posting the news, which broke within the last two hours, until we had sought confirmation from multiple sources. With word now in from certain friends of ours in the film industry, his official twitter account, and now the actor’s reps themselves, we can officially report this tragic news.
He was in Santa Clarita, CA for an appearance at a car show that was geared towards raising money for the Philippines typhoon relief efforts. All that is known at this moment is that he and another person died in a car wreck when Walker’s Porsche GT crashed into a pole or a tree. The car was quickly engulfed in flames, ending both of their lives. At this time, it is unknown who was behind the wheel but TMZ reports that the actor had been taking pals out for little joy rides in his new Porsche, and that this occurred during one of those.
We’re currently seeking the status of Fast & Furious 7, which he was filming as recently as a couple of weeks ago, because the sudden death of one of its stars could have huge ramifications on that production. As soon as we hear anything, you’ll be the first to know.
We’re all shocked. On behalf of the entire Latino-Review familia, we send our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and most of all his daughter, Meadow.
More as it develops.
