Confirming rumors and speculation that have been running rampant for months, Warner Bros has announced that Wonder Woman will, in fact, appear in Batman vs Superman. Not only that, but they’ve announced who’ll be playing the legendary heroine. On the same day that Universal has announced that they’ve shut down production Fast & Furious 7, FF alum Gal Gadot has been revealed as the actress who will bring the Amazon to life for the first time on the big screen.

On her casting, CGI-enthusiast- and sometimes director- Zack Snyder says, “Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”

You may recall that we, along with several other outlets, have been reporting for over a month now that the Israeli-born actress was a contender for the role, despite DC/WB not even acknowledging that Wonder Woman would be in the film. Now we await confirmation of El Mayimbe’s scoop regarding Nightwing to become official as well.
