In today’s very volatile political climate, it is ever more confusing in defining the black-and-white battles with QAnon, MAGA, Antifa, Black Lives Matter, and white supremacy.

The fictional political thriller 88 reveals that more than meets the eye when it comes to the political atmosphere. In the end, it’s all about following the trail of money.

The film stars Brandon Victor Dixon (The Best Man: The Final Chapters), Naturi Naughton (Fame), Orlando Jones (Abbott Elementary, Sleepy Hollow), Thomas Sadoski (John Wick), Michael J. Harney (Orange is the New Black), Amy Sloan, Kelly McCreary (Grey’s Anatomy), Jon Tenney (Scandal), Kenneth Choi (9-1-1, The Wolf of Wall Street), and William Fichtner (Mom). Eromose (Nostradamus, Legacy) directed the wrote the screenplay.

When Femi Jackson (Dixon) the financial director for a Democratic super PAC behind a frontrunner presidential candidate discovers unusual patterns in donations, he enlists an investment blogger Ira Goldstein (Sadoski) to dig deeper. As Femi’s wife Maria (Naughton) strives to educate their son on the dangers he will face in modern society while she fights racial and classist bias at work, Femi and Ira follow the campaign money trail back to its nefarious origins in a race to uncover the truth before the presidential primaries. 88 investigates the divergence of race, money, power, and politics through the lens of a black family.

88 made its premiere last year at the Tribeca Film Festival with critical praise. The film will be in select theaters on February 17.
