A Conversation With Head Of Visual Development And Character Design For What If…? Ryan Meinerding [EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW]

Weren’t we just excited for the premiere of Marvel Studios’ What If…? on Disney+? I bring this up because this week they are debuting the 6th episode of their series. Based on the poster that they released, we are finally going to get to see what Killmonger is up to in a different world. Since the first trailer for What If…? we have seen that Killmonger would play a prominent role in at least one episode of the series.

What If...?

It is going to feature Killmonger saving Tony Stark from the blast that in the original MCU timeline put him down the path to become Iron Man. One thing that is great about this episode is that it will feature the return of Michael B. Jordan to voice the character. He had first appeared in the MCU as the villain in the feature film, Black Panther

During our conversation, he tells us about his responsibilities. This of course includes taking established characters and tweaking them in order to make them fit new narratives. It was a great conversation that you can check out down below!
