We fans actually have a few crossover events that took place between Marvel and DC. So what about a DC/Marvel Crossover movie? On first glance it would seem highly unlikely this kind of crossover would ever happen. However James Gunn thinks it’s a great idea and has spoken with both studios about it. Sadly, or thankfully, depending on where you sit, Gunn says it remains highly unlikely.

Gunn is one of the rare directors who has worked for both Marvel and DC. So who would be in a better position to try and get something like this going? Fans may turn to the inclusion of Spider-Man in the MCU and the Multiverse implications of both franchises as a way this could happen one day. However I don’t see it.
Disney would want Kevin Feige heading the movie up, WB would likely want their own person. Who would decide who wins between them all? That’s not even getting in to the fact that currently DC simply does not have a full roster. Which Superman would we get, which Batman, and so on.

Then we have the simple fact that DC’s heroes are in average far more powerful than those in Marvel. For some fans, that’s what why they like Marvel or DC more, depending on which way you swing. Strangely I always preferred the Marvel Universe as a kid, but Batman was my favorite hero. I always felt like Marvel’s character fitted together better, (except the X-Men) than the DC guys. However, there is room for both by all means.
Gunn seems to think the fans would love it. I’m less sure, but then I’m guessing Gunn’s opinion carries a lot more weight than mine does, as it should. I just think no matter what you did, you’ll get certain fans really upset, so why mash them up?
But hey what do you think about a DC/Marvel crossover movie? are you in, or are you out? Leave any thoughts below.
