A New Ace Ventura Film Is Heading To Amazon

Not long ago we got wind of a rumor that said a third Ace Ventura film was being discussed. Another part of this scuttlebutt was that Evan Peters was being considered for the role of Ventura’s son.

Well, it looks like there was truth to that piece of gossip after all. As in speaking with Park Circus, the Morgan Creek Production team has revealed that the Ace Ventura franchise, along with a couple of other beloved films will be on their way back to the screen. Writers from the Sonic the Hedgehog film are set to pen the script for Amazon. You can check out the statement below.

Titles such as Ace Ventura, Major League, Young Guns, DeadRingers, Diabolique, and Nightbreed are a few examples of multi-platform projects on the fast-track for reinvention. COVID, audiences have been in love and are thrilled to have beloved characters brought back with new stories. Ace Ventura will see a new day at Amazon as a major motion-picture/theatrical with the Sonic the Hedgehog writers.

The character was of course popularized by Jim Carrey in the original Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and the sequel Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls. Unfortunately, it’s not likely that we will see Jim Carrey return, even in a cameo. But hey, stranger things have happened so who knows.

I’m happy to hear of the franchise’s return. I loved the films in my younger years and am interested to see what they do with character.
