A new source has backed up the Blade rewrite rumors that we shared with you earlier this week on LRM. The information came from Daniel RPK and is linked in the related section below. However, after RPK‘s report, John Campea has now come out and said something similar in his latest video.
You can check the video out yourself below if you wish. However, if you just want the details, scroll on past.
Campea mentioned he was told “they were right back to square one” on Blade. Apparently because “many key players are unhappy with the current iteration of the script.”. Though, Campea’s source “didn’t specify who these key players are.”
Does this match with RPK‘s claim that the script was now going to be rewritten, but not a complete rewrite? Maybe, maybe not. RPK thinks the movie will still go into production this Fall, and use the base story they have now. However, if Campea is saying ‘square one’, then surely that could delay the movie once again?

I’m actually more inclined to trust RPK who has one of the best hit rates currently over Campea. However, they may not even be disagreeing here to be fair.
At this point if the movie gets delayed again, they may as well just get Wesley Snipes back. Mahershala Ali will be an old man by the time this one goes under cameras anyway at this rate. That being said, if you are a regular LRM Online reader, then you know which way I’ll lean on this. I’m up for any and all delays IF it means a better script going into shooting.
What do you think of this news as a new source has backed up the Blade rewrite rumors? How hard is it to make a good Blade movie folks, should it be this tricky? If Marvel are going through this many writers, then did they simply chose all the wrong creatives to begin with? As always, leave any thoughts below.
