Today we are sharing The Acolyte episode directors and writers from official sources ahead of the premiere next week. So, if you want to know who directed which episode, or which writers were involved, this is the place. Lucasfilm has issued out press packs to various outlets, there’s some interesting information about the characters and story. Some of which I covered in a spoiler article earlier today.
However, also listed are all the directors for each episode and the writing team behind the scripts. As we already know, the overall vision for the show comes from showrunner Leslye Headland (Russian Doll), and it is Headland who directed the two episode premiere for The Acolyte. Headland also has writing credits for Episode 1 and Episode 6 of the series. Episode 2 was written by Jason Micallef and Charmaine DeGrate.
Episode 3 was directed by Kogonada and written by Jasmyne Flournoy and Eileen Shim.
Episode 4 is directed by Alex Garcia Lopez and written by Claire Keichel and Kor Adana.
Episode 5 is directed by Alex Garcia Lopez and written by Kor Adana and Cameron Squires.
Episode 6 is directed by Hanelle Culpepper and written by Leslye Headland and Jocelyn Bioh.
Episode 7 is directed by Kogonada and written by Charmaine DeGrate, Jen Richards and Jasmyne Flournoy.
Episode 8 is directed by Hanelle Culpepper and written by Jason Micallef.

Rounding out the creative team are directors of photography Chris Teague and James Friend; production designer Kevin Jenkins, costumes by Jennifer Bryan, hair and makeup by Jeremy Woodhead, stunts by Mark Ginther, VFX by Julian Froddy and Carlos Ciudad, sound design by Kimberly Patrick, creature work by Neil Scanlan and the musical score composed by Michael Abels.
The main character is listed as Mae Aniseya (more about that in related link above) and is played by led actor Amandla Stenberg. The rest of the cast includes, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean Charles, Joonas Suotamo and Carrie-Anne Moss.
The two episode premier hits Disney+ next week on June 4th and then Episodes 3-8 will release weekly on Wednesdays.
