Melissa Barrera has a certain affinity for horror, especially with any project with Radio Silence at the helm. In their third collaboration, Barrera once again takes the lead in the vampire ballerina film Abigail with Radio Silence directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett at the helm.
The film also stars Dan Stevens, Alisha Weir, Kathryn Newton, William Catlett, Kevin Durand, Angus Cloud, and Giancarlo Esposito.

Children can be such monsters.
After a group of would-be criminals kidnap the 12-year-old ballerina daughter of a powerful underworld figure, all they have to do to collect a $50 million ransom is watch the girl overnight. In an isolated mansion, the captors start to dwindle, one by one, and they discover, to their mounting horror that they’re locked inside with no normal little girl.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke with actress Melissa Barrera on working with Radio Silence again, her attraction to the horror genre and this particular project, and acting alongside a young actress with Alisha Weir (Matilda the Musical).
Melissa Barrera is known for projects both in Mexico and the United States. In Mexico, she was known for roles in telenovelas, including Siempre tuya Acapulco, Tanto amor and the Netflix series Club de Cuervos. She made her American mark with starring in the Starz series Vida and then with the films In the Heights, Scream, and Scream VI.
Abigail is in theaters on April 19.
