Every family has its quarrels and shenanigans. The Langer Family is no different in the Freevee series Dinner with the Parents.

The comedy series follows a family at its weekly gatherings, which seemingly descend into chaos with their crazy antics and decisions.

Here is the official description of the series:

Dinner with the Parents is a single-camera comedy series about a weekly family get-together that always devolves into chaos and fiasco. Every Friday evening, the closely-knit Langers prove that it takes those we love best to bring out our worst. On tonight’s menu: lies, betrayals, pranks, schemes, unwelcome neighbors, childhood crushes, at least one felony, many very bad decisions, and a scrumptious, freshly-baked apple crisp.

The series stars Michaela Watkins (Tiny Beautiful Things, Casual), Dan Bakkedahl (Veep), Carol Kane (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Henry Hall (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Daniel Thrasher, and Jon Glaser (Life and Beth). Guest stars for the series included Rob Delany (Deadpool), Christine Adams (Hijack), and Mircea Monroe (The Rookie).

The show was based on the U.K.’s Channel 4 award-winning series Friday Night Dinner, one of the network’s most successful comedies in viewing figures.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke with actors Henry Hall and Michael Watkins about the new comedy series and the comedy chemistry with this group.

Michaela Watkins is an actress and comedian who performed for several years for the Los Angeles comedy troupe The Groundlings and then was known for her stint on NBC’s Saturday Night Live. She starred in the Hulu series Casual and other series, including The Unicorn and Trophy Wife. She appeared in The New Adventures of Old Christine, Catastrophe, Enlightened, and Search Party. On the film side, she appeared in The Back-up Plan, Wanderlust, Enough Said, and Sword of Trust.

Henry Hall is an actor who appeared on Veep, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Rutherford Falls.

Dinner with the Parents streams on Amazon’s Freevee beginning Thursday, April 18, with the first four episodes. It follows with two additional episodes every Thursday until the finale on May 9^th.
