Agatha All Along Episode 3 Review – The Format Remains Fun

Wasn’t sure I was going to do this episodic, but here we are with my Agatha all Along Episode 3 review and so far the format remains fun. I’ll be keeping this review as SPOILER FREE as possible folks, just in case anyone is wondering before watching. After all, recent Marvel TV series have been… lacklustre.

I surprisingly really enjoyed the open two episode premiere, and after this one, I still like it. I don’t think overall Episode 3 is on par with Episode 2, which was the best of the three so far. One might argue it’s quality over Episode 1 though.

This episode has a fairly slow start. There’s about five minutes of the coven just bitching at each other and general chit chat. However, a new path forward opens up after this and the transition of environments was nicely handled. No dark spooky forest, but an idyllic modern house in the middle of nowhere.

The scene is now set for the coven to face the first of several tasks/trials/tests. That seems to be how this show will be formatted, at least for a few episodes. They go to a new test each episode and have to make it out the other side. It also seems that each of these tests will be focused on one particular skill each witch possesses. This week, it was potions.

The format of the plot is simple and the VFX are minimal which means it’s not budget heavy. However, the cast work well with one another and have fun. At the same time Agatha has a hint of true darkness behind the veneer and it seems we will learn a little about the history of the coven members, including Agatha as we move along the Witches Road. Without giving too much away it also seems like the show will have real jeopardy. Well, probably not for Agatha herself, but what do you expect?

I guess all there is to say, is that I will be watching Episode 4 on release day. It’s fun, very light on Marvel lore, and introduces it’s own defined lore for the Witches side of the MCU. The cast continue to work well together, even Teen who initially I felt wasn’t quite as effective as the rest.

GRADE: Solid B

Nothing to make me sit up and get excited over, but a fun simple format with a hint of darkness and discovery to come.

Let me what you thought of my Agatha All Along Episode 3 review and as always leave of your own thoughts below.
