According to the latest Barside Buzz, Alien: Neverland is the rumored title of Noah Hawley’s Xenomorph infused TV series. We also have a rumored timeline for the show, which is surprisingly pre-Alien. I say surprisingly because as far as I know in canon, Alien is the first time since Covenant that Humans have come into contact with Xenomorphs. I guess that could be about to change?
The rumors come from Daniel RPK on his Patreon service. RPK says the series will be set 30 years prior to Alien and finds the cast “caught in a conflict with the beginning of artificial intelligence and the competition among developers and users.”
This makes sense given that Hawley has spoken already about how a TV series can’t just be the cast trying to escape from aliens. There needs to be more going on. Another important part of the Alien franchise is the AI and it’s often murderous and occasionally helpful actions.

This also means the show will be set long before the next Alien movie which releases this year. Alien: Romulus from Fede Alvarez is set between Alien and Aliens. We never really found out what happened next after Alien: Covenant, so I guess Hawley’s show could play with those loose ends to bring the cast in contact with the Xeno’s. However, I always found the slightly murderous AI in the franchise just as scary as the Alien’s themselves. Especially Ash played by Ian Holm in the original movie. I found David from Prometheus and Covenant more disturbing than scary. However, bear in mind no one knew Ash was an android until Ripley smashed his head in.
