You may soon be able to add The Expanse to the list of shows that have been saved, at least in part by fans. The show was recently cancelled, but fans of the series came out in droves to plead for a stay of execution. Amazon is reportedly in talks to revive the show, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, the series is a favorite of Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos.

The Expanse is based off a series of novels by author James A. Corey. An official synopsis for the show follows below

“Hundreds of years in the future, things are different than what we are used to after humans have colonized the solar system and Mars has become an independent military power. Rising tensions between Earth and Mars have put them on the brink of war. Against this backdrop, a hardened detective and a rogue ship’s captain come together to investigate the case of a missing young woman. The investigation leads them on a race across the solar system that could expose the greatest conspiracy in human history.”

If Amazon does indeed pick up The Expanse for a fourth season, it will add to the list of shows that have been recently saved from cancellation. Last Man Standing was given the ax last year by ABC, and was recently picked up by Fox. On the other side of that, a couple weeks ago Fox brought the hammer down on the Andy Samberg led Brooklyn 99, which was quickly picked up a few days later by NBC.
