Some 007 news as Amazon announces that the casting process for the new James Bond has begun. Amazon, now in control of the franchise are rebooting the series as it has always been rebooted previously. New stories and of course that means a new James Bond now that Daniel Craig has retired form the role.
The film will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, which I think has certainly made everyone sit up and take notice. I think most in the industry expected Amazon to to cheap and streaming, as has been their way. But Villeneuve is a serious director and would not be taking this on if he wasn’t getting a lot of control over this first film.

As per Variety,
‘The hunt for the next James Bond has officially kicked off.
Amazon MGM Studios started auditioning actors for the part of 007 in the past few weeks, Variety has learned, with the studio enlisting the help of Nina Gold to find the man with the suaveness and danger necessary to replace Daniel Craig as Ian Fleming’s super-spy.’
“The search for the next James Bond is underway,” Amazon MGM Studios said in a statement. “While we don’t plan to comment on specific details during the casting process, we’re excited to share more news with 007 fans as soon as the time is right.”
One thing is for sure. Begun, the casting rumors have! Yep, now that we know Amazon are actively auditioning for this role we are absolutley going to get a few rumors about who they’re seeing. That might not tell us who they will choose, but it may give us an idea of what they are looking for in this go around.

I always hope for another Scottish Bond as we have not had one since Connery, who in my opinion was the best.
