Ambush | Mark Earl Burman on Recreating Vietnam’s Tunnel Rats Warfare

Connor Paolo in Ambush

One of the factors for successful Vietnamese resistance to the United States is the ingenuity of Viet Cong tunnels that strike American soldiers from below. In Ambush, this indie war film follows the first discovery of this complex network of caves and tunnels and the fight to turn the tide of the war.

The film stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Vikings), Connor Paolo (Revenge, Gossip Girl), and Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight). Mark Earl Burman directed the film he co-wrote with Johnny Lozano and Michael McClung.

Here is the official description:

In Ambush, Aaron Eckhart and Jonathan Rhy Meyers star in this intense, gritty, action-packed Vietnam War epic. When a small outpost is ambushed, a US Army squad must take the battle below ground on a high-stakes mission in a new type of warfare the likes of which they have never seen.
