Based on a Neil Gaiman’s novel of the same name, the show American Gods debuted on STARZ in 2017 with an eight-episode first season to great reviews. While the show’s upcoming season was delayed from its original date due to budgetary disputes, the second season of American Gods has now started filming. The news was announced by Neil Gaiman himself via his Twitter account. You can check out the post below:
Me? What am I doing? Oh, just hanging out with gods and mortals at the House on the Rock. Why, yes, that is the Biggest Carousel in the World. Nothing special. (YES, IT WAS AMAZING. YES, IT WAS AS AMAZING AS YOU WOULD THINK.) @GodsOnAmazon @AmericanGodsSTZ pic.twitter.com/BhLEPLTp7d

One of my favorite new shows, American Gods follows the story of protagonist Shadow Moon, who soon meets a very interesting man who calls himself Mr. Wednesday. Shadow Moon, while is dealing with the loss of his wife, Laura, begins working for Mr. Wednesday, and soon finds out this isn’t just another job, as Mr. Wednesday has big, big plans for him in the coming battle between the warring factions of the old and new gods. Other fascinating characters include Mad Sweeney, a taller than average leprechaun who, of course, loves his gold, as well as Mr. World, who is the leader of the new gods and is played by the very eccentric veteran actor, Crispin Glover.
The battle between the old gods and the new continues when American Gods returns in 2019.
