According to one of it’s stars Stellan Skarsgard, Andor Season 2 shoots this Fall. It’s long been rumored that Andor would have at least a second season. Just as long as it’s been rumored Season 1 will be 12 episodes long. However, given Season 1 is not yet dated for Disney+ release, nothing was ever official. Until now that is! Stellan Skarsgard has what’s presumed to be a major role in Andor and he was chatting about his upcoming work schedule with Dagens Nyheter. The interview is in Swedish, but below is a translation to English.
“We start with Dune: Part Two in July. And then in the Autumn, it’s time for the second season of the Star Wars series Andor,” (For those Atlantically challenged Autumn = Fall everywhere else.)
Skarsgard was also asked if he knows when Andor Season 1 will stream on Disney+?
“I do not know when they will start broadcasting it. It will take some time so that it does not take too long between season one and season two.”
That seems to indicate the plan is to hold Andor Season 1 back so it ends up being much less time until Season 2 is ready to roll. Could we surmise from that information that we could get Andor sometime in the Fall on Disney+? To be fair that was most fans, and those in the movie news business, best guesses anyway. With the finale of The Book of Boba Fett this Wednesday, the only shows seemingly ahead of Andor are The Bad Batch Season 2 and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Both are expected to be out around Spring-Summer this year. May seems like a safe bet for Obi-Wan Kenobi currently.
What do you think of Stellan Skarsgard comments that Andor Season 2 shoots this Fall? When do you think we will see Andor Season 1 on Disney+? Sound off below as always.
