Well folks, the Andor Season 2 trailer is finally here, but here’s the thing, I really don’t like it one bit. Now before anyone thinks I’m jumping on the hate train, I loved Andor Season 1. Like, really loved it, the best Star Wars media since 1983 in my book. Star Wars for the folks that were kids during the original trilogy. Therefore, despite this trailer below, I’m super excited for Andor Season 2.
This trailer though, I hate it. Check it out.
Now, my main complaint is very simple. The music choice. I honestly don’t get it and it absolutley takes me out of Star Wars whenever I hear any contemporary music. Lucasfilm, it was hated in The Acolyte, please, just, stop it!
Now, whilst I have zero idea what the marketing team were going for home I’m going to assume a few things. One, Andor didn’t get watched as much as the critical acclaim for the show would suggest it should. Therefore, I imagine Disney knows that anyone who actually watched Andor Season 1 is coming back anyway. Perhaps this trailer is designed to attract casuals or new fans? Well, what a silly idea.

Disney and Lucasfilm would have done better to attract back actual Star Wars fans who had abandoned the franchise even before Andor released. If the soundtrack for Season 2 is not yet ready, then just give us some of Season 1’s soundtrack over the trailer.
Now if it was just the music, okay. However, I really dislike the edit here as well. It’s all quick action shots of Andor looking cool. Or, quick glimpses at various cameos from other Star Wars films or Season 1. Luthen is in like one shot, but Saw Gerrera is in several. Even the Death Star shot above, whilst probably cool in the show, looks like a reminder. ‘Hey, remember the Death Star’s they were cool right? Oh and here’s that guy from Rogue One.’
Maybe someone can edit this trailer with better music so I can tell if that was all that truly put me off. However, I much preferred the potato quality version I saw online. The one that was shown live at…one of the conventions in Summer, I forget which right now.
Andor Season 2, great, can’t wait to see it. However, Lucasfilm, your marketing is way off on this for me. I’d suggest editing a new trailer soon. It wasn’t just me who really didn’t like it. Both Kyle and Shockey, my fellow Senior Ed’s, who loved Season 1 don’t like it either. So that’s us, what did you think of the Andor Season 2 trailer? Love it, hate it? Let us know below.
