Animated Mortal Kombat Film Adds Joel McHale And Jennifer Carpenter

In addition to the live-action Mortal Kombat movie which will debut next year, in the near future, we will be getting an animated film of the franchise titled Scorpion’s Revenge. The film is expected to be released during the first half of this year and has landed Joel McHale to voice the movie star martial artist Johnny Cage, with Jennifer Carpenter lending her voice to the special ops agent, Sonya Blade.

While I don’t see an official synopsis anywhere, the title of the fil seems pretty self-explanatory, and it seems likely the film will focus on Scorpion. As any fan of the franchise (and video games in general know), the Mortal Kombat films of the mid-90s were absolute garbage. Hopefully, this animated film will start the franchise down a path to redemption, a path that next year’s live-action film will hopefully follow.
